Works

Eva Menz’ compilation of work shows a variety of suspended sculptures,  mostly displayed in the place where a traditional chandelier may inhabit a void. Menz enjoys capturing and discovering harmonies of natural geometry, shapes and forms. Her approach to lighting is theatrical, and aspires to embrace a setting with the most natural light in order to create ever-changing visual impressions.

She is intrigued by the emotional impact of a sculpture within a space, refocusing the viewers’ emotional spatial understanding. A large, gravity-defying object in a space can significantly change the a visitor’s experience. Each sculpture is a result of its own thought process, dialogue with the spatial creator and the artists interpretation. It is a journey of creation taken together.

Ehe artist aims to explore and experiment with perception and behaviour between viewer and object. The very nature of suspended objects challenges the understanding of logic, environment and instinct.
